I am Donna Cartwright, in my fortieth year I have after decades a slave to corporate life rekindled my love of painting. Two years ago my family and I moved into a beautiful property in North Wales, built in 1835 it is full of character and thankfully inspiration. Our dining room, with its slate tiled floor, beautiful sandstone fireplace and exposed beams has now become my studio. I am still trying to find my niche, but in the meantime I have produced an already quite impressive portfolio of work.
My favourite paint is acrylic, it reflects my personality, versatile & vibrant and is much more forgiving than the quick drying watercolour or the slow drying oils. I have the support of my husband and daughter (even when I take over the entire house with art materials) and my extended family and friends are all responsible for giving me the push I needed to stretch my ability. I have a fire in my belly that when stoked can produce the strange and the beautiful and from time to time I am amazed at what I produce.
